How can we help you?
We can assist you with all the services and departments on campus. However, this page provides a list of people who can provide information and resources relating to research activities.
Services provided by the Research Support Unit (USR)
He provides advice and support for research activities in his capacity as a researcher at the Vilanova i la Geltrú campus, with the aim of encouraging participation in competitive R&D&I projects organised by public bodies, providing support throughout their entire lifecycle.
National and international projects
- To provide guidance, support and detailed information on new calls for public funding and the definition of eligible expenditure, always tailoring our approach to the researcher’s area of interest.
- To provide support to research staff during the proposal preparation phase, in administrative, financial and legal matters.
- Provide details of the anticipated conditions (financial, staff costs, etc.) as set out in the call for applications.
- Support throughout the implementation phase, covering both financial and administrative aspects: regulations, guidelines and optimised procedures for financial management.
- To help the researcher organise the consortia.
Agreements
- To advise on, draft and process collaboration and research agreements, in coordination with the Barcelona Research and Innovation Support Unit and the UPC’s Legal Services.
Implementation of project expenditure
- Record purchases, travel, payments to suppliers, advance payments, claims and transfers of funds. For instructions on how to process these, see https://epsevg.upc.edu/es/escuela/guias-rapidas - USR (available in several languages).
- Keep a close eye on and carefully monitor expenditure.
Recruitment for the project
- To provide information and advice on, and process, proposals for the recruitment of research staff.
Justifications for research projects
- To plan and coordinate financial accountability procedures and official audits.
- To provide information and advice on the specific requirements of the calls for applications that must be met in each case.
- To provide institutional support to financial institutions in relation to the expenses incurred and to defend the measures taken.
- To manage complaints, objections and appeals received in relation to rejected batches, and to process refunds to financial institutions where appropriate.
Support from the Resources and Services Unit (URES)
The Resources and Services Unit coordinates the general financial and budgetary resources of our centre (EPSEVG).
Procurement of goods and services: purchasing
- To provide information and advice on, and to manage, the procurement of the materials, goods and services required for teaching and the running of the school.
Campus Services (Reception)
The reception service acts as the nerve centre for logistics and the day-to-day management of the campus facilities.
Access to campus facilities
- Implementation of access permissions for the various areas of the campus buildings.
Space management
- To coordinate and book classrooms, the auditorium and the various rooms within the centre, as well as the relevant services, depending on the circumstances and requirements.
Internal mail, courier and parcel service
- To receive and distribute incoming post, either via the UPC’s regular internal postal service to the various UPC campuses and buildings (three times a week) or by other postal means.
- To receive and deliver parcels arriving at the various buildings on campus.
Centralised storage service for paper-based examinations
- Save and send the printed exam papers to the cloud-based reprographics service at https://infraestructures.upc.edu/ca/serveis/servei-dimpressio. This must be done well in advance and in accordance with the established distribution conditions.
