Internships abroad
Internships abroad are a great opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the career, complete training and perfect a third language.
At the Vilanova i la Geltrú School of Engineering here is the possibility of carrying out these practices through programs Erasmus+ KA103 and UPC-Empresa.
Requirements
- Have passed a minimum of 120 ECTS in Bachelor's studies or 15 ECTS in Master's studies.
- In the case of carrying out curricular internships, the credits corresponding to the internships or the final work of studies must be registered at EPSEVG
- In the event of non-curricular internships, the specific enrollment for non-curricular international internships must be formalized.
Erasmus + KA103 internship
This modality includes internships carried out by undergraduate, master or doctoral students who carry out mobility in a country of the participant in the Erasmus + program.
The following are excluded as host institutions for this type of internship:
- Institutions of the European Union and other institutions of the European Union, including specialized agencies (check list).
- Organizations that manage community programs.
- National diplomatic representations (embassies and consulates) of the country of origin of the student (that is, the country where the institution of origin of the student is located and the country of origin of the student or of the one who possesses the nationality).
- Traineeship Agreement
It is the document that details the work plan that will be followed in the institution where the internships are carried out and, where appropriate, the recognition that the stay will have at EPSEVG. This document must be signed and sealed by the three parties: student, EPSEVG and destination institution, before starting the internship. Once signed it will be necessary to keep a copy in e-secretary.
- Application for the Erasmus + KA103 Internship Scholarship
It is carried out through the ERASMUS Scholarship Application process existing at the UPC Electronic Office within the deadlines established in the call for each academic year.
- Financial agreement
This document establishes the clauses that will govern the mobility of practices and can be downloaded from the e-secretary. It is necessary to deliver the physical document signed by the student at the Center's International Relations Office.
- Obligatory insurance
Mobility entails contracting compulsory insurance that covers the student during their stay abroad. The policy must have, as a minimum, the following coverages:
- Health care (diagnostic tests and surgical interventions).
- Accidents (Compensation for permanent disabilities and Compensation for death).
- Repatriation in the event of death.
The insurance will be contracted, whenever possible, automatically at the time of formalizing the enrollment for the semester by assigning the student to the policy that the UPC has with the OnCampus Estudia company for student mobility.
If due to dates it is not possible to include the insurance in the enrollment, it will be necessary for the student to contract the policy directly with the insurance company, obligatorily before starting the practices and to keep a copy of the contracted policy with the e-secretary. - Initial language test
Before starting the practices, the student will receive a link by email to take a test of knowledge of the language in which they will carry out the practices. This test has no academic repercussions for the student, but it is useful for the Erasmus program to find out to what extent mobility serves to improve the knowledge of foreign languages.
- Certificate of incorporation
This document certifies the date on which the student has joined the institution where the internship will take place. The form is available in the mobility section of the e-secretary, in the same section a copy of the certificate must be kept once it is signed and sealed by the institution. The delivery of this document is essential in order to receive the first payment of the Erasmus + aid.
- Certificate of stay
This document certifies the exact duration of the internship period. Based on the dates that appear in this certificate, the amount of aid granted will be recalculated, if necessary. The form is available in the mobility section of the e-secretary, in the same section a copy of the certificate must be kept once it is signed and sealed by the host institution.
- Assessment of internships by the host institution
This document corresponds to table D of the Internship Agreement and is where the host institution records the work done by the student and makes an assessment. It is necessary for the student to provide the company / institution with the document with enough time for their tutor to complete, sign, stamp and return it to the student before completing the internship.
- Practice report and student report
At the end of the stay, the student must submit to the International Relations Office a report detailing the tasks carried out as well as a report on the internships at the host institution.
- Practices evaluation by the EPSEVG tutor (curricular practices)
The school tutor will evaluate the student's practices based on the information from the company / institution's tutor's report, as well as the memory and the report made by the student.
- Final language test
