La Universidad Tecnológica de Darmdstadt anuncia INSPIRED, el primer proyecto para estudiantes diseñado en el marco del programa UNITE!
16/12/2019
INSPIRED is a flagship project within UNITE! – 20 students from all UNITE! partners can attend in 2020
INSPIRED stands for International Project Week for Interdisciplinary Research-Oriented Digital Learning and
- is a flagship project in showcasing UNITE!: interdisciplinary, international, innovative research and learning (this video shows how https://youtu.be/AkJ2fVJp8s4 )
- is open to students (bachelor and master level) with an interest in Engineering & Life Sciences (the programme is organized by the departments of Biology, Mechanical Engineering and Material Sciences)
- is a unique combination of a "virtual classroom" and "real life" project work
- comprises an e-Learning preparatory phase (starting March 30, 2020)
- culminates in a summer event in Darmstadt (June 15 - 26, 2020)
- ends with visiting top German companies as well as the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) (June 29 - July 3, 2020).
Topic:
Darmstadt is the home to the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), the main mission control hub of the European Space Agency (ESA). The topic is inspired by it: Interstellar Re-factory.
Students reach into a multidisciplinary toolbox to re-cycle, re-fine, and re-engineer organic and inorganic resources. They re-deploy them to manufacture outputs ensuring sustainability of off-world travel and space exploration.
Through participation in INSPIRED, the international team of future bio-engineers will get familiar with hot production topics, such as the German view of digitalization of production or the arrival of Industry 4.0. Innovative processes, like 3D printing as well as new areas of tension, such as Lean 4.0 will be addressed. Furthermore, novel technologies and approaches revolutionising the realm of life sciences will be introduced, chief among them: synthetic biology and genome editing. INSPIRED will especially highlight their interplay with other science and engineering disciplines.
